When the cost of error is not measured in dollars, the people responsible for getting it right rarely advertise.

Deetz Consulting is a private advisory practice serving corporate boards, executive teams, family offices, foundations, and the general counsels and content trustees who carry their weight. Engagements are conducted directly with the firm's principal — without intermediaries, account managers, or layers of delegated review — and remain strictly confidential by design.

The work draws from three decades of leadership inside federal protection and corporate security: program assessment, executive protection, insider-threat, internal-misconduct investigations, regulatory compliance, and crisis response. The objective is straightforward — identify the gap that matters, recommend what genuinely works, and stand behind the counsel given.

Discretion isn't a marketing posture. It's the operating premise — and it is the reason most of this work is found through introduction, not advertisement.

Portrait of David Deetz, Founder & Principal Advisor of Deetz Consulting.

A career spent where the protection could not be drafted twice.

David A. Deetz is the founder and principal advisor of Deetz Consulting. He is a former United States Secret Service Special Agent who served on the Presidential Protective Division, the Dignitary Protective Division, and the Washington Field Office, ultimately rising to Special Agent in Charge of the Inspection Division within the Office of Professional Responsibility — where he led a unit of thirty supervisory agents and technical staff conducting employee misconduct investigations and mission assurance inquiries.

Before federal service, Mr. Deetz served honorably for more than a decade in the United States Marine Corps, including six years in Marine Counterintelligence. After leaving the Secret Service, he served as Vice President of Security, Design, and Compliance for a national security firm, leading its operations across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area before founding Deetz Consulting.

His advisory work draws on every chapter of that career: the discipline of military counterintelligence, the operational rigor of presidential protection, and the institutional sensitivity of internal misconduct investigations at the federal level.
