The advance that kept a President home.

— APEC Summit · Vladivostok · 2012

Conducting security advance for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit while serving as the U.S. Secret Service Resident Agent in Charge in Moscow, Mr. Deetz's observations on route security led to the President of the United States declining to attend. The work was conducted in a foreign operating environment, in the language of a counterpart service, against a security picture that did not yield to Western assumptions.

MOMENT 02.

The plan personally approved by the President.

As Vice President for Security, Design and Compliance at Colorado Security Agency, Mr. Deetz designed, recruited for, and managed the heckler and protester interdiction plan for U.S. Presidential political rallies during the 2020 campaign cycle. The plan resulted in the complete elimination of aggravated assaults inside campaign venues. The concept of operations was personally approved by the President.

The corporate mandate most boards now face.

As Senior Director of Enterprise Corporate Security at Trellix — a multibillion-dollar global cyber firm owned by the private equity firm Symphony Technology Group — Mr. Deetz reduced the corporate security budget by fifty percent through automation of routine processes and disciplined coordination among internal and external stakeholders. Do less with less, without doing less. The work most boards now ask their own CSOs to perform.
